One Year and Waiting

One year ago today we officially started our journey to grow our family.  This journey has given us some bumps and bruises along the way including slow downs and unexpected changes to the process, but we've held strong!

May this year allow our paths to cross (with our little one) and forever be intertwined. We still have a ways to go as we first finish out the wait for referral and then begin what might be the hardest part of our journey yet...the wait for travel.  As I've seen with all of the wonderful families currently in this travel wait process...you cherish every picture, update, and opportunity to send a care package!

Numbers R Dwindling

We're # 3 on the referral list!  A very exciting start to the new year, with 2 referrals coming into to our Lifelink families on January 4 already.  We're moving up fast and soon we'll be number #1...yeah!!  When we started at #25 it seemed like forever and a day before this would all become so real.  It was something to happen way in the future. Any movement wasn't all that eventful as we still had a long ways to go. Well, with the number getting small it's become very exciting and yes we've made it to the future.

It's also getting a whole lot more exciting as I've joined a couple of S. Korean adoptive parent (moms) forums/groups online.  This has been a great deal of fun and excitement over the last week or so to hear in real time as referrals come through and families wait for the S. Korean government to submit and approve exit permits for travel in 2012....that will be us next year.  A group of us also started a Facebook book club and we're reading "Toddler Adoption, the Weaver's Craft."  I've also got to start my Dr. Oz/Dr. Roizen owners manual, "You Raising Your Child."  I want to be able to follow my little ones development though we can't be with him.  Most of the referrals are coming in at about 7 months old, so I guess I better get started on this read real soon so I can catch up.  Got to go....
